Hon. Wasantha Aluwihare,— To ask the Minister of State Resources and Enterprise Development,—
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) of the number of tea estates managed by the Sri Lanka Plantation Corporation ;
(ii) of the amount of tea disposed monthly as waste tea at tea auctions, out of the amount of tea produced by those tea estates;
(iii) separately of the number of kilograms of tea that was condemned as unsuitable for human consumption at the tea auctions out of the amount of tea produced by the Kele Bokka Estate and the Galpihilla Estate, in the month of August in year 2010;
(iv) the gross loss incurred by it;
(v) the steps that will be taken in future to find out the reasons for such a loss and prevent the situation ?
(b) If not ,why?
