Hon. Mohamed Aslam,— To ask the Minister of Education,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) Mr. M.R.M. Silmi, who is serving as a lecturer of the National College of Education, Dharga Town, Aluthgama faced the interview on 05/11/2000 to be absorbed into Class III of the Sri Lanka Education Administrative Service ; and
(ii) he did not get the expected promotion, despite having fulfilled all the required qualifications as a result of his personal file not being completed and duly maintained by the Kalutara Zonal Education Office?
(b) Will he admit that the requirement for the completion of five year service by 24/08/2000 for a graduate lecturer to be eligible for promotion as per Cabinet decision No. 82/2000 dated 24/08/2000 had already been completed by Mr. Silmi who is a holder of a Masters Degree (M.A) by the date 11/07/2000?
(c) If so, will he inform this House of the reasons for further delaying the granting of the said promotion to Mr. Silmi?
(d) Will he state whether action will be taken to absorb Mr. Silmi to Class III of the Sri Lanka Education Administrative Service with effect from 08/12/2000 and pay without delay all salary arrears and allowances as per the salary scale of the relevant post?
(e) If not, why?
