Hon. R. M. Ranjith Madduma Bandara,— To ask the Minister of Co-operatives and Internal Trade,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether the board of directors of Uva Capital Co-operative Society (Uva Capital Co-operative Bank) has been elected in compliance with the Co-operatives Act ;
(ii) whether the committee meeting and the general meeting have been held legally, in electing that board of directors ;
(iii) of the venue of the general meeting of this Co-operative society and the date on which it was held ;
(iv) of the membership of this Co-operative Society ; and
(v) of their names and addresses?
(b) Will he state—
(i) the names of the current Chairman and the board of directors of Uva Capital Co-operative Society ; and
(ii) the names of the General Manager and the Executive Officers of it?
(c) Will he admit that—
(i) the former Chairman and the current Chairman of this Co-operative Society Bank are brothers ;
(ii) the General Manager of this bank is the wife of the former Chairman ; and
(iii) an audit report has been submitted regarding the fraud and corruption that have taken place in this bank?
(d) Will he state whether any legal action will be taken according to the audit report mentioned in (c) (iii) above?
(e) If not, why?
