Mujibur Rahuman, To ask the Minister of Health,— Is she aware that; (i) there are thousands of patients on the waiting list of the government hospitals for heart surgeries, for years; and (ii) millions of rupees are being spent to private hospitals in Sri Lanka and abroad for these surgeries? (b) Will she inform this House— how many heart related diseases reported in Sri Lanka in last five years; how many patients have registered for heart surgeries in government hospitals for last five years; and from those registered patients, how many surgeries were carried out annually in last five years? (c) Will she also inform this House— whether the government is satisfied with the present practice; and what are the key observations and recommendations made for further improvement of this situation? (d) If not, why?
