187/2020 Hon. Sivagnanam Shritharan,— To ask the Minister of Education,— (a) Is he aware that— (i) there is a school by the name of Kili/ Kilinochchi Central College, in the Karachchi Divisional Secretariat Division of Kilinochchi district; and (ii) there are a number of shortcomings including the poor standards of education, dearth of teachers/workers, scarcity of furniture/ buildings and resources in the above school, which is one of the two national schools in the district of Kilinochchi? (b) Will he inform this House as to when this school will be provided with the required buildings and furniture? (c) Will he also inform this House of the particulars related to each of the positions of the entire staff of the above school including the principal, deputy principal, teachers and the non- academic staff? (d) Will he further inform this House of the reasons for not hitherto taking steps to fill the vacancies that exist in the non academic staff of the above school? (e) Will he admit the fact that the education activities of the students cannot be enhanced without filling the above vacancies? (f) If not, why?
