130/2020 Hon. Chaminda Wijesiri,— To ask the Minister of Public Services, Provincial Councils & Local Government,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the number of Municipal Councils functioning at present in Sri Lanka;
(ii) of the names of those Municipal Councils; and out of the aforesaid Municipal Councils,
(iii) of the names of those that have given the task of removing garbage to the private sector?
(b)Will he also inform this House separately—
(i) of the names of the private companies that have undertaken the removal of garbage in Municipal Councils; and
(ii) of the amounts of money that have been paid to the aforesaid companies from the year 2015 up to date?
(c) Will he further inform this House of the steps that will be taken by the Ministry to get the garbage collected by the workers of the aforesaid Local Authorities?
(d) If not, why?
