Hon. Charles Nirmalanathan,— To ask the Prime Minister and Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious & Cultural Affairs,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) Rs. 25 million had been allocated from the budget 2018 to establish
a new cultural center in place of the cultural center situated at Thalwupadu area, Mannar in Mannar district as it had been damaged when it was used for purposes of Mannar District Secretariat during the war; and
(ii) that necessary actions had been pursued to take over the land permit to the then Ministry of Cultural Affairs after the then Secretary to that Ministry of Cultural Affairs and the officials of that Department had directly visited the area to identify the land required for the construction of this Cultural Center?
(b) If so, will he inform this House the date of commencement of the activities of the new cultural center?
(c) If not, why?
