Hon. Charles Nirmalanathan,— To ask the Minister of Youth & Sports,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) a location has been selected and plans have been made to construct the Mullaitivu District Stadium; and
(ii) the construction work has not hitherto been commenced?
(b) Will he inform this House of the date on which the construction work of the aforesaid stadium will be commenced?
(c) Is he also aware that—
(i) the work of the Mannar District Stadium had been suspended since a period of 2 years after having completed more than 50% of its construction; and
(ii) in spite of the completion of the phase 1 construction work of the Public Stadium which is under construction in the Emil Nagar area of the Mannar city limit, the phase 2 work has not hitherto been commenced?
(d) If so, will he inform this House of the date on which the second phase construction work of the above stadium will be commenced?
(e) If not, why?
