111/2020 Hon. Shantha Bandara ,_To ask the Minister of Education (a) Is he aware that the school students in low income families , who pass the grade five scholarship examination are given scholarships ; (b) Will he inform this House,_ (i) the number of school students that receive scholarships having passed the grade five scholarship examination in the year 2019; (ii) the amount of money that has been allocated to provide scholarships to them ; (iii) whether scholarships have been given properly out of the aforesaid amount of money ; (iv) the amount of money that has been allocated for scholarships in the year 2020 ? (c) Does he admit the allegations to the effect that scholarships have not been given to the scholarship recipients at the due time ? (d) If not , why ?
