Hon. Buddhika Pathirana,— To ask the Minister of Education,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) the number of University Colleges that exists in Sri Lanka at present; and
(ii) the number of students studying in those institutes?
(b) Is he aware that—
(i) sufficient lecture hall facilities are not available for the students in the University Colleges;
(ii) a shortage of lecturers prevails; and
(iii) hostel facilities are not available?
(c) Will he also inform this House—
(i) whether plans have been developed to solve these problems; and
(ii) if so, the amount expected to be allocated for this purpose?
(d) If not, why?
