Hon. Buddhika Pathirana,— To ask the Minister of Environment,—
(a) Will he admit that—
(i) the climate of Sri Lanka is affected as a result of global climate change; and
(ii) it directly impacts economic, social, cultural and other aspects of Sri Lanka?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether the government has taken steps to conduct a study by experts regarding the manner in which trends in global climate change affect Sri Lanka;
(ii) if so, what the recommendations of that study are;
(iii) if not, whether a committee of experts will be appointed to conduct such a study; and
(iv) if so, the date on which it will be done?
(c) If not, why?
