Hon. Buddhika Pathirana,— To ask the Minister of Highways,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether a plan to connect Sri Lanka to the network of highways of India has been developed by the government;
(ii) if so, the date on which it will be implemented;
(iii) of the amount expected to be spent in that regard by the government of Sri Lanka; and
(iv) of the benefits expected to be gained by Sri Lanka through that project?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) whether an expert study on undesirable cultural and social transitions that could happen as a result of this project has been conducted; and
(ii) if so, what the recommendations of that study are; and
(iii) if not, whether such a study would be conducted?
(c) If not, why?
