Hon. Buddhika Pathirana,— To ask the Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious & Cultural Affairs and Minister of Urban Development & Housing,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) a large number of persons serve on contract/substitute/casual basis attached to the Civil Administration Office of the Sri Lanka Navy;
(ii) these employees serve in detachments and hospitals of the Navy located throughout the island; and
(iii) salaries are paid to them on a daily basis?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether measures have been taken to give them permanent appointments;
(ii) if so, what those measures are; and
(iii) of the date they would be given permanent appointments?
(c) If not, why?
