Hon. Hesha Withanage,— To ask the Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious & Cultural Affairs and Minister of Urban Development & Housing,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) the number of Cabinet, State and Deputy Ministers; and
(ii) the number of lady Cabinet, State and Deputy Ministers;
appointed from the First Parliament of 1978 up to the Ninth Parliament, separately ?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) whether he will state the number of lady Ministers as a percentage of the total number of Ministers in each Cabinet, separately; and
(ii) whether he admits the fact that ladies have not received a fair representation in the Cabinet corresponding to the current population of women in the country?
(c) If not, why?
