Hon. Mahindananda Aluthgamage,— To ask the Minister of Highways & Road Development and Petroleum Resources Development,—
(a) Will he admit that—
(i) initiatives were taken in the year 2012 to widen the Gampola – Dolaosbage road in Kandy, which is under the purview of the Road Development Authority, into two lanes and a distance of seven kilometers from Kuruduwatta up to Welikanda has been completed by now having carpeted it;
(ii) no work of this road has been carried out for the whole period of three and a half years since January 2015?
(b) Will he inform this House whether action will be taken to allocate money for the remaining 4 kilometers of the aforesaid road, which is used by a large number of people and many vehicles, and commence its work?
(c) If not, why?
