Hon. Thushara Indunil Amarasena,— To ask the Minister of Internal & Home Affairs and Provincial Councils & Local Government,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether shops have been constructed by Bandaragama Pradeshiya Sabha intending to give on lease, in the vicinity where the Aurvedic Medical Centre of Bandragama town had been located;
(ii) if so, of the number of shops constructed;
(iii) of the amount of money spent and as to who provided such funds;
(iv) whether tender has been called in order to lease aforesaid shops; and
(v) separately, of the name, address, the shop number and the bid forwarded for each shop?
(b) Will he state—
(i) the measures that have been taken to make the people aware of the aforementioned tender;
(ii) of the name of each newspaper in which the advertisement was published, the date of the advertisement and the size of the advertisement; and
(iii) the venues, if publicized by banners or hoardings ?
(c) Will he also inform this House —
(i) whether copies of aforesaid advertisement will be submitted;
(ii) whether he accept the fact that a sufficient number of tenderers were not available for aforesaid tender; and
(iii) whether the recommendations will be made to call the tenders again on aforesaid shops in order to remedy the issue?
(d) If not, why?
