Hon. Thushara Indunil Amarasena,— To ask the Minister of Public Administration & Disaster Management,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether he is aware that there was a severe drought in the North-Western Province during the past few months;
(ii) if so, the number families affected in the Galgamuwa electorate during that period;
(iii) the number of families who received drought relief;
(iv) whether he is aware that there was an allegation that the prices of dry rations in the relief package given to them were higher than the market price; and
(v) if so, whether he will look into this matter and take necessary measures?
(b) If not, why?
