Hon. Jayantha Samaraweera,— To ask the Minister of Public Enterprise, Kandyan Heritage and Kandy Development,—
(a) Will He inform this House—
(i) The extent of land belonging to the Janata Estate Development Board that has been given to outsiders on lease basis as at 30.06.2018;
(ii) The name, address, lease period, the extent of land leased out and the lease amount of the persons and institutions they have been given to; and
(iii) Whether the properties have been valued according to the rates in the open market and lease amount charged accordingly in leasing out these lands?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) if the persons who leased those lands have sub-leased them, what those lands are;
(ii) the name, address, lease period, the extent of land and the lease amount of the persons to whom those lands have been sub-leased separately;
(iii) the amount of money the Board lost as a result of not updating the levying of lease and illegal sub-leasing; and
(iv) the measures that can be taken against sub-leasing in terms of the lease agreement?
(c) If not, why?
