Hon. (Prof.) Ashu Marasinghe,— To ask the Minister of Foreign Affairs,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether he is aware that the Government of Sri Lanka has requested the Laos Republic in or around 2009 not to issue on arrival visa to Sri Lankans who arrive in Laos;
(ii) if so, of the reasons for that;
(iii) whether this request is diplomatically reasonable;
(iv) whether the Government of Sri Lanka has made similar requests from other countries, too; and
(v) if so, of the names of those countries?
(b) If not, why?
