Hon. Ishak Rahuman,— To ask the Minister of Tourism Development, Wildlife and Christian Religious Affairs,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) “Vijayagama” - Ranaviru village of Palagala - Negampaha road of Palagala Divisional Secretariat division which was established in year 2012, has been commissioned to the public by the National Housing Development Authority, in the year 2013;
(ii) as wild elephants roam in aforesaid village frequently, it is unsafe for the villagers to engage in their day to day activities; and
(iii) even if the proposals have been made to put up an electric fence nothing has been done yet?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether speedy measures will be taken to put up an electric fence for the sake of the security of the villagers; and
(ii) if so, of aforesaid date?
(c) If not, why?
