Hon. Dayasiri Jayasekara,— To ask the Minister of Health, Nutrition & Indigenous Medicine,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the reasons for the emergence of the epidemic of fever in early May 2018;
(ii) of the number of patients reported to have been afflicted with that epidemic;
(iii) the number of children afflicted with the disease among them;
(iv) of the total number of persons who died of the disease; and
(v) of the number of children who died of the disease?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) the special symptoms of that disease;
(ii) whether the hospitals had sufficient drugs to treat patients afflicted with the disease; and
(iii) the measures adopted by the government to control the spread of the disease?
(c) If not, why?
