Hon. Hesha Withanage,— To ask Minister of City Planning, Water Supply and Higher Education,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) the number of foreign students who were enrolled to the universities in Sri Lanka in the year 2017 to follow the first degree and the post graduate degree, separately;
(ii) the breakup of the aforesaid number of students who were enrolled to follow the first degree and the post graduate degree on the basis of the degree programme of each university, separately;
(iii) the income generated in the year 2017 through the enrollment of the aforesaid students; and
(iv) whether necessary steps will be taken to enroll a higher number of foreign students to the Universities of Sri Lanka?
(b) If not, why?
