Hon. Hesha Withanage,— To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Economic Affairs, Livestock Development, Irrigation and Fisheries & Aquatic Resources Development,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether the Agrarian Development Department has given permission to reclaim paddy lands in the district of Ratnapura;
(ii) if so, the names of the persons to whom permission has been granted in that manner;
(iii) whether he is aware that the reclamation process of a paddy land near the Udagama junction, Embilipitiya has been stopped due to the objections from the people;
(iv) if permission has been granted for that, the basis on which it was given; and
(v) whether steps will be taken to remove the filled soil from the paddy land ?
(b) If not, why?
