Hon. Buddhika Pathirana,— To ask the Minister of Public Administration and Home Affairs ,—
(a) Will he state that how many Grama Niladhari Divisions are there in Sri Lanka at present?
(b) Will he admit that —
(i) the allowance paid to the acting Grama Niladharis in the areas where there are vacancies for the post of Grama Niladhari is 1/4 of the basic salary received at the time of his/her first appointment;
(ii) a financial injustice is caused to such officers as the allowance paid to the Grama Niladharis who got their appointments 10-15 years ago is a very small amount of money as a result of the aforesaid acting allowance is paid on the above mentioned basis?
(c) Will he state —
(i) whether he will take action to do justice to such officers;
(ii) if so, the date on which the relevant steps will be taken?
(d) If not, why?
