Hon. Buddhika Pathirana,— To ask the Minister of Water Supply and Drainage,—
(a) Will he inform this House of—
(i) the number of families that are expected to be provided with water from the Pitabeddara Water Supply Scheme, which was started for the purpose of providing drinking water to a number of villages in the Pitabeddara Divisional Secretariat Division in the Matara district ; and
(ii) the total estimated cost of the aforesaid water supply scheme?
(b) Is he aware that the construction work of the Pitabeddara Water Supply Scheme has been stopped halfway by now?
(c) Will he state—
(i) if it has been stopped halfway, the reasons for it ;
(ii) whether steps will be taken to start the work connected to the aforesaid water supply scheme again ; and
(iii) if so, the date on which it will be started?
(d) If not, why?
