Hon. Buddhika Pathirana,— To ask the Minister of Transport,—
(a) Will he admit that the employees of the depots belonging to the Sri Lanka Transport Board in the Southern Province have to be paid salary arrears?
(b) Will he state —
(i) the number of employees to whom salary arrears have to be paid;
(ii) the amount of money needed to pay salary arrears; and
(iii) whether a procedure has been prepared for the payment of salary arrears?
(c) Will he admit that action is being taken to pay salary arrears only to the currently employed persons, excluding the employees who have retired by now and are entitled to salary arrears?
(d) Will he state the date on which the salary arrears due to the retired employees and the employees who are working at present will be paid?
(e) If not, why?
