Hon. Ashok Abeysinghe,— To ask the Minister of Technology and Research,—
(a) Is she aware of the complaints made to the Sri Lanka Inventors Commission by inventors regarding the injustices caused to them?
(b) Will she state—
(i) the steps that have been taken with regard to statements made by inventors, namely businessman Seneviratne, lecturer Richard Nikapitiya and K.D. Perera to the affect that their inventions have been defrauded ; and
(ii) whether a formal inquiry has been conducted regarding written complaints made against the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Inventors Commission and some of its officers?
(c) Is she aware that—
(i) a written request has been made to the President by the inventors who have become victims of piracy, to conduct an inquiry as regards the arbitrary actions of the Chairman of the Inventors Commission ; and
(ii) the allocations made to the commission by the government for a year have been spent within a short period of time?
(d) Will she submit the audit reports of the above mentioned Commission to this House?
(e) If not, why?
