Presentation of Bills
The Hon. Minister of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government moved the Bill entitled
“Elimination of Rabies and Registration of Dogs”
to provide for the elimination of rabies in Sri Lanka by vaccination of dogs, control of dog population and regulation of breeding of dogs for commercial purposes; for the registration of dogs; for the establishment of the National Rabies Elimination Advisory Committee and the Regional Rabies Elimination Advisory Committees; to repeal the Rabies Ordinance (Chapter 476) and the Dog Registration Ordinance (Chapter 477) and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
