Main Business of the House for Today

The following Motions (appearing as Item No. 2 and 3 of today’s Order Paper) were moved and passed by the House:-

1. Registration of Weapons

That this Parliament is of the opinion that all weapons in Sri Lanka should be registered and thereafter, if anyone is found with an unlicensed weapon, he should be charged with breach of criminal law and a mandatory imprisonment of 20 years be enforced.

2. Extension of Banking Hours

That this Parliament is of the opinion that Banking hours should be extended from 9:00 hours till 16:00 hours in order to increase the economic activities in the country.


The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1445 Hrs. until 1400 Hrs. on Tuesday 29th June 2010.
