Presentation of Bills

Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration (Amendment)

The Hon. Chief Government Whip of Parliament moved the Bill to amend the Sri Lanka Institute of Development Administration Act, No.9 of 1982.


The Hon. Duleep Wijesekera was granted leave to introduce the Bill, entitled "Rohana Dissanayake Foundation (Incorporation)".


Main Business of the House for Today

The following items (appearing as Item Nos. 1 to 7 of today’s Order Paper) were moved as follows:-

(i) Supplementary Sum - Head 145, Programme 2 (Ministry of Re-settlement and Disaster Relief Services)
was passed by the House.

(ii) Grassroots Foundation (Incorporation) Bill - Second Reading
was passed and referred to the Standing Committee (Legislative) “B”.

(iii) Al Haj S.M.M. Hussain Charitable Trust (Incorporation) Bill - Second Reading
was passed and referred to the Standing Committee (Legislative) “B”.

(iv) Jama’ath Ansaris Sunnathil Mohamadiyya of Sri Lanka (Incorporation) Bill - Consideration
was passed by the House.

(v) Thaliyawaka Sri Ananda Bodhi Cultural Foundation (Incorporation) Bill - Consideration
was passed by the House.

(vi) Karuna Samadhi Organization (Incorporation) Bill - Consideration
was passed by the House.

(vii) Sri Kalyanodya Society - Kandy (Incorporation) Bill - Consideration
was passed by the House.


Motion at Adjournment Time

Motion at Adjournment Time on "Maga Neguma Machinery and Construction institution: Corruption and Frauds" was moved by the Hon. Dayasiri Jayasekara.


The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1613 Hrs. until 0930 Hrs. on Wednesday 23rd September 2009.
