Vote of condolence on the late Hon. Anura Bandaranaike, ex-Speaker of Parliament and ex-Minister was taken up and completed.


Main Business of the House for Today

The following items (appearing as Item Nos. 67, 68, 69, 71 and 72 of today’s Order Paper) were moved as follows:-

(i) Overseas Muslim Educational Trust of Sri Lanka (Incorporation) Bill
Second Reading passed and referred to the Legislative Standing Committee “B”.

(ii) Zam Trust (Incorporation) Bill
Second Reading passed and referred to the Legislative Standing Committee “B”.

(iii) Jama’ath Ansaris Sunnathil Mohamadiyya of Sri Lanka (Incorporation) Bill
Second Reading passed and referred to the Legislative Standing Committee “B”.

(iv) Mahaweli Cultural Foundation Trust (Incorporation) Bill
Considered and passed by the House.

(v) Gamage Arthur Perera Foundation (Incorporation) Bill
Considered and passed by the House.


The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1505 Hrs. until 0930 Hrs. on Tuesday 17th March 2009.
