Presentation of Bills

“National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health”

The Chief Government Whip of Parliament moved the Bill to provide for the establishment of the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health for the formulation of a policy on occupational safety and health standards; to create an environment for occupational safety and health at all workplaces to protect both the employers and employees; and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.

Four Regulations under the Board of Investment of Sri Lanka Law

The above Items (appearing as Item Nos. 1 to 4 of today’s Order Paper) were passed by the House.


Motion at Adjournment time

Motion at Adjournment time on “Use of banned fishing methods” was moved by the Hon. Pemasiri Manage.


The Parliament was, thereafter adjourned at 1524 Hrs. until 0930 Hrs. on Thursday 19th February 2009.
