Hon. (Dr.) Nalinda Jayathissa,—To ask the Minister of Higher Education & Cultural Affairs,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the number of lecturers serving in each government medical faculty separately as at 30.06.2017;
(ii) of the number of vacancies of lecturers exist on those faculties separately, by now;
(iii) of the number of students expected to be increased to medical faculties when increasing the student intake to universities up to 50,000 according to the budget proposals; and
(iv) of the plans that the government have to increase the number of lecturers to cater the increasing number of students?
(b) If not, why?
