Hon. Bimal Rathnayake,— To ask the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether it has been planned to construct a new railway line from Kurunegala to Habarana;
(ii) if so, of the year in which the said plan was formulated and the technicians who paved way for that;
(iii) separately of the number of religious places, government buildings, private institutions and houses that will be damaged as per the aforesaid plan;
(iv) whether the initial plan has been altered in certain places including Ibbagamuwa and Dambulla;
(v) if so, of the year in which the aforesaid alteration was done;
(vi) whether the relevant individuals were informed on that matter;
(vii) if so, of the period in which it was done;
(viii) whether an agreement was entered into with the relevant people;
(ix) of the reason that led to the said alteration;
(x) of the length of the railway track which is subjected to this alteration;
(xi) Separately of the damage caused on the property in the Ibbagamuwa and Dambulla areas by the initial plan and the second plan comparatively;
(xii) of the members of the technical committee who engaged in the preparation of the second plan; and
(xiii) separately of the cost so far borne for the preparation of these two plans?
(b) If not, why?
