Hon. Bandula Gunawardana,— To ask the Minister of Finance and Mass Media,—
(a) Will he inform this House —
(i) whether a ‘fund of funds’ has been established with the view to providing business capital to small and medium scale entrepreneurs as per proposal No.124 of the budget for the year 2016;
(ii) whether requests were made to the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and Asian Development Bank (ADB) seeking their contributions to the aforesaid ‘fund of funds’;
(iii) if so, of the nature of the responses received from those institutes; and
(iv) whether the Inland Revenue Act was amended in relation to reduction of corporate income tax for venture capital companies by 50%;
(b) If not, why?
