Hon. Ashoka Priyantha,—To ask the Minster of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine,—
(a) Will he inform this House,—
(i) of the number of thalassemia patients found in the districts of Kurunegala and Puttalam by now;
(ii) of the Divisional Secretariat Divisions in which those patients reside;
(iii) whether an operating theatre and a gene bank are located in the North Western Province to treat the patients suffering from thalassemia; and
(iv) what steps will be taken by the Ministry to provide treatments and other facilities for those patients?
(b) If not, why?
