Hon. Buddhika Pathirana,—To ask the Prime Minister and Minister of National Policies and Economic Affairs,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the number of horses available in the horse mounted units of the three armed forces of Army, Air Force and Navy;
(ii) of the expenditure borne on the upkeep of the aforesaid horses; and
(iii) of the benefits accrued from the above horses;
separately as per each force?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) whether arrangements will be made to obtain more horses to the horse mounted units of the above forces from foreign countries; and
(ii) if so, of the projected expenditure of the above purpose separately as per each force?
(c) If not, why?

(අ) (i) යුද්ධ හමුදාව - අශ්වයන් 27යි.
ගුවන් හමුදාව - අශ්වාරෝහක අංශයක් නොමැත. දියතලාව ගොඩබිම් සටන් පුහුණු පාසලේ එක් අශ්වයෙක් පමණක් සිටී.
නාවික හමුදාව - නැත.
(ii) වසරකට වැය කරන මුදල් දළ වශයෙන්;
යුද්ධ හමුදාව - රු. 13,473,472යි.
ගුවන් හමුදාව - රු. 228,000යි.
(iii) යුද්ධ හමුදාව - යුද්ධ හමුදා විද්යා පීඨයෙහි සරඹ පෙළපාළි හා අනෙකුත් විශේෂිත සරඹ පෙළපාළි සඳහාත්, ආධුනික නිලධාරින්ගේ පුහුණුවීම් කටයුතු සඳහාත් යොදා ගනී
ගුවන් හමුදාව - ආධුනික නිලධාරින්ගේ පෞරුෂත්ව වර්ධනය කිරීමේ පුහුණුවීම් කටයුතු සඳහා යොදා ගනී.
(ආ) (i) ඉදිරියේදී අවශ්යතාවක් මතු වුවහොත් පමණක් ශ්රී ලංකා යුද්ධ හමුදා පීඨය සඳහා අශ්වයින් ගෙන්වීමට කටයුතු කෙරෙනු ඇත.
(ii) මේ වන විට අවශ්යතාවක් මතු වී නොමැති බැවින් අදාළ නොවේ.
(ඇ) අදාළ නොවේ.
