Hon. (Mrs.) Shanthi Sriskandarasa,— To ask the Minister of Sustainable Development and Wildlife,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the extent of lands set aside as grazing lands for livestock in Mullaitivu, Vavuniya and Mannar Districts;
(ii) whether he is aware that the Wild Life Protection Division has been refusing to permit the release of the lands which have been declared as grazing lands for livestock in Mullaitivu area; and
(iii) whether he will take steps to get the lands set aside as grazing lands released from the Wild Life Protection Division and make them available for the use of those engaged in livestock farming as a solution for the issues faced by them?
(b) If not, why?
