Hon. (Dr.) Nalinda Jayathissa,— To ask the Minister of Megapolis and Western Development,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether there is a plan to construct an underground pipe system to make the rain water that gets collected in the Colombo city drain off into the sea;
(ii) if so, of the name of the consultancy firm which provides consultancy services for preparing that plan;
(iii) whether tenders were called for selecting that firm;
(iv) if so, of the date on which such tenders were called;
(v) of the name of the entity which provides loans or aid for the aforesaid project;
(vi) of the value of the loan or aid mentioned in (v) above; and
(vii) of the proposed time for the commencement of the aforesaid project?
(b) If not, why?
