Hon. (Mrs.) Shanthi Sriskandarasa,— To ask the Minister of Social Empowerment and Welfare,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) of the number of persons who became disabled owing to the war which went on in the northern province and other disaster situations during the past period;
(ii) of the number of persons who obtain the monthly disability benefit allowance provided for the disabled persons in the Northern province; and
(iii) of the number of persons who do not receive any allowance although being disabled?
(b) Will he also inform this House whether steps will be taken to extend the monthly disability benefit allowance provided for the disabled persons to all the disabled persons?
(c) If not, why?
