Hon. Buddhika Pathirana,— To ask the Minster of Agriculture,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) the extent of land in which black gram has been grown in Sri Lanka by the year 2015;
(ii) the black gram production in each year during the five years from the year 2010 up to 2015 separately, in kilograms;
(iii) whether the government directly purchases black gram from farmers; and
(iv) if so, the quantity of black gram purchased by the Government in each year during the last five years separately?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) whether steps will be taken by the Government to enhance black gram production; and
(ii) if so, the aforesaid steps;
(c) If not, why?
