Hon. Rauf Hakeem,— To ask the Minister of Education,—
(a) Is he aware that—
(i) Mr. S.M.M. Haleem of No. 18B, Kurukunthala, Kadugannawa is a commerce graduate teacher who has served satisfactorily in Al-Manar-Kandy, Zahira-Mawanella, Mayurapada-Mawanella national schools (difficult and non difficult ) from 03rd October 1994;
(ii) the principal of Zahira National School-Mawanella in which Mr. Haleem is serving at present, has obstructed him from reporting for duty;
(iii) a situation has arisen where Mr. Haleem is unable to serve freely in this school as the principal has got outsiders to assault him within the school and threaten his life;
(iv) therefore he has sought a transfer to Mayurapada National School, Mawanella; and
(v) the said principal continue to subject Mr. Haleem to further mental agony by deliberately not recommending his request?
(b) Will he inform this House, whether—
(i) a ministerial level inquiry will be carried out with regard to the conduct of the aforesaid principal; and
(ii) steps will be taken to grant a transfer immediately to Mr. Haleem to Mayurapada National School?
(c) If not, why?
