Hon. Sunil Handunnetti,— To ask the Minister of Power and Energy,—
(a) Will she state—
(i) the number of coal power plants that are in operation in Sri Lanka at present;
(ii) the names of those power plants;
(iii) the number of new coal power plants that have been proposed to be built;
(iv) the locations in which the aforesaid power plants will be established;
(v) the methodology that will be adopted to acquire land that is required for the aforesaid construction activities;
(vi) the number of units of electricity that is generated by the Norochcholai coal power plant at present; and
(vii) the aforesaid amount as a percentage of the total energy requirement of Sri Lanka?
(b) If not, why?

(අ) (i) ශ්රී ලංකාවේ දැනට ක්රියාත්මක වන ගල් අඟුරු බලාගාර සංඛ්යාව එකකි.
(ii) එය පුත්තලම, නොරොච්චෝලේ පිහිටි ලක් විජය විදුලි බලාගාරයයි.
(iii) ලංකා විදුලිබල මණ්ඩලය විසින් පළ කරන ලද 2013-2032 දිගුකාලීන ජනක සැලසුමට අනුව නුදුරු අනාගතයේදී අලුතින් තවත් ගල් අඟුරු විදුලි බලාගාරයක් ඉදි කිරීමට සැලසුම් කර ඇත.
(iv) එම විදුලි බලාගාරය සාම්පූර් ප්රදේශයේ ඉදි කිරීමට තීරණය කර ඇත.
(v) මේ සඳහා මූලික වශයෙන් රජයට අයත් ඉඩම් යොදා ගැනීමට සැලසුම් කර ඇත. රජයේ ඉඩම් ප්රමාණවත් නොවන අවස්ථාවන්හිදී 2009 අංක 20 දරන ශ්රී ලංකා විදුලි පනතේ 52 වැනි ඡේදයට ප්රකාරව කටයුතු කරමින් පෞද්ගලික ඉඩම් ද ඒ සඳහා පවරා ගැනීම කරනු ලැබේ.
(vi) නොරොච්චෝලේ තාප විදුලි බලාගාරය 2014.12.31 දින වන විට ජනක යන්ත්ර 1 මඟින් 5418.49 GWhක විදුලි ශක්තියක් ද, ජනක යන්ත්ර 2 මඟින් 1222.8402 GWhක විදුලි ශක්තියක් ද, ජනක යන්ත්ර 3 මඟින් 434.1885 GWhක විදුලි ශක්තියක් ද ජනනය කර ඇත.
(vii) එය ලංකාවේ සම්පූර්ණ විදුලිබල අවශ්යතාවයෙන් 15%ක ප්රතිශතයකි.
(ආ) අදාළ නොවේ.
