Hon. Ashok Abeysinghe,— To ask the Minister of Internal Transport,—

(a) Will he inform this House—

(i) of the number of buses that are operating under the Sri Lanka Transport Board at present;

(ii) of the course of action adopted regarding the excess drivers and conductors employed in it;

(iii) whether action will be taken to import buses to suffice the number of excess drivers and conductors; and

(iv) whether money has been allocated from the budget for the aforesaid purpose?

(b) If not, why?

(අ)            (i)       දිනකට බස් රථ 5,000ක් පමණ ධාවනය වේ.

              (ii)       රියදුරු හා කොන්දොස්තරවරුන්ගේ අතිරික්තයක් නොමැත. දිනකට ධාවනය කළ යුතු බස් රථ ප්‍රමාණය        ධාවනය කරවීම සඳහා රියැදුරන් හා කොන්දොස්තරවරුන් 11,000 බැගින් අවශ්‍ය වන අතර දැනට සේවය කරනුයේ රියැදුරන් 9,393ක් හා කොන්දොස්තරවරුන් 9,927ක් පමණක් වන බැවින් දැනට රියැදුරු හා කොන්දොස්තර හිඟයක් පවතී.
