Hon. Anura Dissanayaka,— To ask the Minister of Private Transport Services,—
(a) Will he state—
(i) the basis on which the fares of semi-luxury passenger transport service has been calculated;
(ii) the standards set for the semi-luxury passenger transport service;
(iii) the course of action that will be followed with regard to the buses that do not meet those standards; and
(iv) the number of buses that were dealt with such a course of action during the past 3 years?
(b) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether he is aware that other buses similar to semi-luxury buses run at normal fares;
(ii) whether an additional amount of money is changed through semi-luxury buses;
(iii) what courses of action have been taken in line with the statement by the Minister with regard to the termination of the semi-luxury bus service; and
(iv) what their results are?
(c) If not, why?
