Hon. Vijitha Berugoda,— To ask the Minister of Water Supply and Drainage,—
(a) Will he state —
(i) the objective of the water and sanitation project that is being operated within the Jaffna Peninsula;
(ii) the time within which the aforesaid project is expected to be completed;
(iii) the number of consumers that receive the benefits under the aforesaid project;
(iv) the estimated expenditure for that project;
(v) the amount of money spent for the aforesaid project by now; and
(vi) the institutions by which the aforesaid expenditure is borne?
(b) If not, why ?

ගරු කථානායකතුමනි, ජල සම්පාදන හා ජලාපවහන අමාත්යතුමා වෙනුවෙන් මා එම ප්රශ්නයට පිළිතුර සභාගත* කරනවා.

(අ) (i) යාපනය දිස්ත්රිකයේ කයිට්ස්, වේලානයි, නල්ලූර්, කරෙයිනගර්, යාපනය, චාවකච්චේරි, සන්ඩ්ලිපායි, කෝපායි හා චන්ගානයි යන ප්රාදේශීය ලේකම් කොට්ඨාස හා කිලිනොච්චි දිස්ත්රික්කයේ පලාලි, පූනගරි ප්රාදේශීය ලේකම් කොට්ඨාසවල ජීවත්වන ජනතාවගේ පානීය ජල පහසුකම් හා සනීපාරක්ෂක පහසුකම් වැඩිදියුණු කිරීම මෙම ව්යාපෘතියේ අරමුණ වේ.
(ii) මෙම ව්යාපෘතියේ වැඩ කටයුතු 2015 වසරේ අවසන් කිරීමට නියමිතව ඇත.
(iii) දැනට මෙම ප්රදේශයේ ජල සම්පාදන ක්රම මඟින් 26,550ක ජනගහනයක් සඳහා නල ජල පහසුකම් ලබා දී ඇති අතර, එය 300,000 (1130%) දක්වා වැඩි කිරීම මෙම ව්යාපෘතිය මඟින් සිදු කිරීමට නියමිතය. තවද, 80,000ක ජනතාවගේ සනීපාරක්ෂක පහසුකම් ලබා දීම හා ඉරණමඩු ජලාශය වැඩිදියුණු කිරීම නිසා 55,000ක ජනතාවගේ වාරිමාර්ග පහසුකම් වැඩිදියුණු කිරීමද, මෙම ව්යාපෘතිය මඟින් සිදු කෙරෙනු ඇත.
(iv) ව්යාපෘතිය සඳහා ඇස්තමේන්තුගත වියදම රුපියල් මිලියන 18,000ක් පමණ වේ.
(v) 2013.06.30 දින වන විට ව්යාපෘතිය වෙනුවෙන් රුපියල් මිලියන 373ක මුදලක් වැය කර ඇත.
(vi) ආසියානු සංවර්ධන බැංකුව සහ ප්රංශ සංවර්ධන නියෝජිත කාර්යාංශය.
(ආ) පැන නොනඟී.
