Hon. P. Harrison,— To ask the Minister of Health,—
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) the number of kidney patients identified in the North Central Province by the year 2012;
(ii) separately, on annual basis the number of patients that died of kidney disease in the North Central Province during the period from the year 2000 to 2012;
(iii) the steps taken by the government to save people from the aforesaid disease;
(iv) whether there is any connection between the kidney disease and the use of agro chemicals and chemical fertilizers; and
(v) whether there is a connection between the kidney disease and the water consumed by the people of the aforesaid area ?
(b) If not, why ?

(iii) * වකුගඩු රෝගාශ්රිත විශේෂඥ නිපුණතා සහිත මානව සම්පත වැඩිදියුණු කිරීම.
* වකුගඩු රෝග ප්රතිකාර මධ්යස්ථාන ස්ථාපිත කිරීම සහ යටිතල පහසුකම් වැඩිදියුණු කිරීම.
* රෝගය පිළිබඳ වෛද්ය සහ විද්යාත්මක පර්යේෂණ ක්රියාත්මක කිරීම.
* වකුගඩු රෝග පාලනයට අදාළව ප්රතිපත්තිමය රාමුවක් සකස් කිරීම.
(iv) කෘෂි රසායනික සහ රසායනික පොහොර මෙම රෝගයට හේතුකාරක විය හැකි බවට අනුමාන කර ඇති නමුත් ස්ථීර නිගමනයකට පැමිණ නැත.
(v) බීමට ගන්නා ජලය මෙම රෝගයට හේතු කාරක විය හැකි බවට අනුමාන ඇති නමුත් ස්ථීර නිගමනයකට පැමිණ නැත.
