Hon. Ajith P. Perera,— To ask the Minister of Higher Education,—
(a) Will he state—
(i) the year in which the Allied Health Specialised Degree Course was initiated in the university of Peradeniya;
(ii) separately, and in relation to each year, the number of students who got registered to follow that course; and
(iii) the number of graduates who have completed that course, at present?
(b) Will he also state—
(i) whether a decision has been taken to reduce the period of the Allied Health Specialised Degree Course to 3 years;
(ii) if so, the reasons for that?
(c) Will he inform this House of the steps that have been taken to ensure the quality of the above degree course?
(d) If not, why?

(ආ) (i) සම සෞඛ්ය විශේෂවේදී උපාධි පාඨමාලාවේ කාලය වර්ෂ 04කි.
(ii) දේශීය හා විදේශීය වශයෙන් විශාල ඉල්ලුමක් පවතින උපාධිධාරීන් බිහි කරන සම සෞඛ්ය විශේෂවේදී උපාධිය සම්බන්ධයෙන් රජයේ වෛද්ය නිලධාරින්ගේ සංගමය - GMOA - විසින් දක්වන ලද දැඩි විරෝධතා හේතුවෙන් හා ඒ පිළිබඳව එළඹි අධිකරණමය ක්රියා හේතුවෙන් 2009 ජුනි මස සිට සම සෞඛ්ය විශේෂවේදී උපාධි පාඨමාලාවේ අධ්යයන කාලය තුන් අවුරුදු සාමාන්ය උපාධිය සමඟ සිව් අවුරුදු විශේෂ උපාධිය ලෙස සැලකේ.
(ඇ) ඔව්.
පේරාදෙණිය විශ්වවිද්යාලය තුළ මේ සඳහා නව ගොඩනැඟිල්ලක් හා රසායනාගාරයක් ඉදි කිරීම ඇතුළු යටිතල පහසුකම් සංවර්ධනය, පාඨමාලාව සඳහා අවශ්ය නවීන උපකරණ මිලදී ගැනීමට කටයුතු කිරීම. සායනික පුහුණුව ක්රමවත් කිරීම හා වැඩි කිරීම, අවශ්ය ආචාර්යවරුන් සංඛ්යාව බඳවා ගැනීමට කටයුතු කිරීම.
