Hon. Ravi Karunanayake,— To ask the Minister of Mass Media and Information,—
(a) Will he state—
(i) whether there is a media institution dedicated for telecasting sports and related activities for the Government of Sri Lanka;
(ii) if so, the name of such institution; and
(iii) whether there have been TV stations such as Sirasa, Swarnavahini, Derana, ITN , Rupavahini etc., applied for sports telecasting rights?
(b) Will he also state—
(i) as to when was the Carlton Sports Network (CSN) was incorporated;
(ii) names of the CEO as at 01.06.2012 and the current CEO ;
(iii) whether CSN has got government contracts; and
(iv) if so, the names of such contracts?
(c) Will he inform this House—
(i) the advertisements obtained by CSN from the government institutions ;
(ii) the value for advertising in CSN by state owned institution per month from its inception to date; and
(iii) the 10 biggest government institutions that do advertising in CSN?
(d) If not, why?
