Hon. Padmasiri Bandara,— To ask the Minister of Housing, Construction and Water Supply,—(1)
(a) Will he inform this House—
(i) whether the technical service that existed at the National Housing Development Authority is still operational;
(ii) if so, of the number of technical officers serving there;
(iii) of the travelling expenses per 1 km paid these officers for field duties;
(iv) of the amount of combined allowance paid to the technical officers;
(v) of the date on which the said allowance was approved; and
(vi) of the steps that will be taken to update the promotion procedure of these officers?
(b) Will he also inform this House—
(i) of the amount of allocations made to the National Housing Development Authority for the year 2026 for the construction of houses; and
(ii) whether the number of technical officers available to the Authority is sufficient in relation to the said amount of allocations?
(c) If not, why?
